Configuration

Configuration

The Configuration area of Settings contains a number of miscellaneous settings, for various different areas of iKnow.

Dashboard

In the Dashboard section, we are able to set whether the Prayer & Praise feature will appear on the Dashboard. If the tickbox is unticked, the Prayer & Praise widget won’t appear, and the link for people to add Prayer & Praise items won’t be displayed.

People

In the People section, we have the option to allow people to add their own children to the system, in the Me section. If the tickbox is unticked, adults will see an Add Child tab, when they go to their own details. Clicking this will allow them to add the details of children that live in their household, or that they care for.

Home Groups

The Take Attendance for Selected Events, will allow our Home Group leaders to mark attendance, for members of their Home Group, at other events, such as Sunday Services. Ticking this tickbox will display another tickbox, that will allow us to choose to show events from all locations, if we have more than one location set up.

Ticking the, Home Group Leaders can Add Visitors to Home Groups tickbox, will, if ticked, show an Add Visitor button, in the Attendance area of the Home Groups module. Clicking the button will allow us to add the details of a visitor to the Home Group.

When a Home Group is added to the system, it is added as part of a specific location. If we have multiple locations, ticking the Home Groups can be Moved to Different Churches tickbox, will allow us to change the location the Home Group is attached to.

Teams

The Default Rota Reminder Days, defines the number of days that will be set as default for Rota Reminders, for new people that are added to the system. This will not change the Rota Reminder days for users that are already in the system.

Locale

The Locale section, is connected to the GDPR. The age that children have to give their own consent, to have their data stored, varies between different countries. Setting the Locale will ensure that the correct age is used, if you are using iKnow in a country other than the UK.

Messages

When we send and receive messages, through iKnow, they are recorded in the Messages section of Settings. We can set how many days we would like messages to be stored. This will be set to 180 days, by default, which is the maximum number of days the messages can be stored. We are able to decrease this, if we wish.

The, Compose Emails in the Comms Suite with an HTML Editor, tickbox, will switch on the formatting options for Simple Emails and Letters, within the Communication Suite, if it is ticked.
