Add A Giving ID

When you are recording giving in the iKnow Finance module, each of your givers will need a unique Giving ID allocated to them.  Each time a person gives to your church, their giving will be attached to their Giving ID, allowing you to track their giving, track their Gift Aid and produce Giving Statements.

To add a Giving ID, you will need to click the icon for the Finance module on the dashboard, or select it from the dropdown menu.

In the Finance module, click ‘List of Givers’ in the menu on the left.  If you’re not able to see the ‘List of Givers’, you will need to ask your administrator to increase your level of access to the Finance module.  Click the ‘Add New Giving ID’ button and the New Giving ID window will open.  

If the person you are adding is already in the People module of iKnow, you can search for them in the search box.  When the person you are adding appears in the list below the search box, click on their name.  Their details will be added on the right hand side, you can then type in their unique Giving ID.  We recommend using the person’s initials, followed by their date of birth, to create their unique Giving ID.  If the person is eligible for Gift Aid, tick the ‘automatic giftaid’ checkbox and their giving will be added to your Gift Aid claim, automatically.

If the person you are creating a Giving ID for is not already in the People module, you can add their details manually.  Please be aware that this will not add the person to the People module.

Once you have added the details, click the ‘Save’ button.

This will take you to the person’s new Giving Profile.  Here, you will be able to check the details you have added and make any changes you need to.  If you make changes to a person’s name or address details in the People module, the Giving Profile will not be updated, you will need to update the Giving Profile separately.
